Large rosewood Shibayama cabinet, Japan, Meiji period
inlaid in bone, mother-of-pearl and black and gold lacquer to depict landscapes with birds, fantasy animals and vases overflowing with flowers. Façade with four doors under an open compartment; four sliding panels above; the lower part houses two sliding panels with an arched line above three drawers. The frames are finely sculpted partly in openwork with figures of dragons and birds among large clouds; elephant head feet, cm. 217x174x48 (some lacks)
