3 Folding Black Evening Fans - Lace, Applique, and Hand-Painting
The lot includes three black folding evening fans. First, a sheer black organza fan with appliqued black needle lace, with hand-painted grey floral motifs. The ribs and guards are made of wood with carved patterns. The fan is in fair/poor condition with   repairs on the leaf, detached rib, cracked head, and missing tassel. It measures 14 in x 26 in. Second, an antique black silk crepe fan with a leaf embellished with a Grecian woman and a cherub, both of their bodies are made of gold tone spangles with hand-painted applied bone faces and bone accents on the guards.  It is in fair/poor condition with several broken/repaired ribs, torn fabric, and missing spangles; it measures 8 1/2 in x 14 1/2 in with a leather box included, marked E .Gallard.   Third, a black sheer organza fan with needle lace applique, hand-painted purple forget-me-nots, and silver tone metallic spangles. It also has black painted wooden ribs and guards with carved accents. It is in fair/poor condition with past repairs, a broken rib, a missing rib,   and tears to the fabric; measures 9 1/2 in x 17 in. Please see the photos for details.
