The Banjo Player
Black Banjo Player Automaton. Paris: Vichy, ca. 1910. The diminutive musician sits atop a white wooden chair, and when the key is turned, he strums the banjo in his hands, picking out a tune. Head, one arm, and one leg move in time to the music played by the concealed music box. Composition head and hands, white lace-cuffed shirt with yellow and grey trim, and matching hat. Brass Vichy key. Height 23”. Banjo skin worn, minor rubbing to surface of chair and finish of figure; very good overall.
