Very early NSDAP Sturmabteilung putschist Windjacket
An iconic and spectacularly rare windjacket from the early 1920s. These, especially the gray ones, extensively worn by the Nazi paramilitary force, the SA (later called the "brown shirts"). This type of uniform was used before the brown shirt was adopted in 1924. The Windjackets became famous as they were extensively worn by the SA during the Beer Hall Putsch in November 1923. Often mixed with military surplus from the Great War, and sometimes, but not always, with a swastika armband and a skicap or a steel helmet. These types of jackets was sold by certain suppliers, alongside truncheons, swastika badges, knuckle-dusters and firearms, exclusively to the nazi street fighters. This windjacket comes directly from a renowned collector of early NSDAP militaria.Images 13, 14, 15, 16 are not included in the auction.
Condition: The windjacket shows moderate signs of wear and most of the buttons has been period replaced to a brown leather (football) type. One of the pockets have a loose button, this one is included however.
